This website is to facilitate the Bankmed Virtual AGM for the year 2025. The AGM and voting is managed and overseen by BDO, an independent service provider who has been appointed by Bankmed to manage the AGM as the Independent Electoral Body (IEB).
Any Principal Members who are in good standing with the Scheme will be eligible to attend the Virtual AGM. You were not required to register prior to attending.

A Principal Member is the primary Bankmed policy holder. A Principal Member may be a member on their own or may have dependants linked to their Plan. The dependants are not eligible to vote.
A Principal Member in good standing pertains to membership contributions being up to date.
The Virtual AGM expands the ability of Bankmed members to attend the AGM. Bankmed received permission from the Council of Medical Schemes to change the format.
According to the Scheme rules if a member is unable to attend the Virtual AGM they may nominate a proxy to attend in their place and cast votes in their stead. The nominated individual must also be a member in good standing at the time of the Virtual AGM. A member may only nominate one proxy. Furthermore a member may represent only one other member at the Virtual AGM.
If you were nominated you will be able to vote as a proxy on the motions at the Virtual AGM.
1 Click on the “Authenticate” button on the Home page or on the menu to validate your membership
2 To do so you will be required to provide your medical aid number (on your card) and your RSA ID Number/Passport Number (if you do not have an RSA ID).
3 Once authenticated, click on the “Access the VAGM” link to join the Virtual AGM.
4 To vote for approved motions, click on “Vote on Motions” after you have authenticated. If you have a proxy assigned to you, you will also see a menu option to vote on behalf of the member whose proxy is assigned to you.
The Virtual AGM will take place on 26 June 2025 using an online platform, which is accessible through modern web browsers, or on IOS (Apple) and Android based smart phones. Please authenticate as per the instructions on the Home page and then select “Access the VAGM”.
